Lawrence DeBlois+Fish

Lawrence first came to the village with Father Matevia who brought boys to the "Priest's House a mile below the lower village. It was that connection that brought Lawrence back in 1918. His name is in the Chesuncook Lake House registers as a guest. Lawrence was known as "Holy O Gee Wiz" because he used to say that all the time. He was also known as  ole "Boys o boys" for the same reason. Lawrence was a wonderful guy who'd help our his neighbor, lend out tools, take us kids fishing for perch and trout. But he was deathly afraid of the Maine Black Bear and lightening. More about those stories when you come to visit. Just ask some of us "old timers" about Lawrence, the bear and the sap camp or lightening storms when camping out at Caucmagomic Stream.
